iPhone: Small expenses like a daily cup of coffee or sudden impulse buys can really add up (sometimes without our realizing it) and sabotage our savings goals. Urge is designed to combat that common problem. It tracks when you resist spending and shows you your bigger savings goal progress.
Every time you have an urge to buy something but decide you'd rather save the money, put the amount in Urge, which will keep a running total of those small or big savings. The app also tracks your savings goals compared to how much you have saved.
Currently offered as a 7-day free trial, Urge comes in two options after the free trial: the $1.99 version connects to your savings account and moves your savings for you, or you can move the money yourself with the $0.99 app (if you don't want to connect your bank account).
So, while not free, if Urge can help you save more money, it's definitely worth a dollar or two (some small purchases are investments). As with using a loose change jar, you might be surprised at the end of the week or month how much you'll have accumulated. (You can calculate the latte factor for yourself too.)
