Track & Field Technical Manager
?BC Athletics invites applications for the full time position of Track & Field Technical Manager.? In this position the successful candidate will have responsibility for the Technical Management and Development of Track & Field in British Columbia along with providing leadership in the High Performance and BC Team Programs.? The ideal candidate should be a visionary, energized by the opportunity and have the ability to engage others in the collective achievement of the goals and objectives of the program.
Working with Athletes, Coaches, Officials, BC Athletics Committees and Staff the responsibilities include:
- Programs and Competition Development
- Budget Development
- Event Sanctioning
- Event Management
- Athlete, Coach and Officials Development
- BC Athletics Committees ? involvement and liaison
- Para-Athletics Programs ? liaison and program integration
- Club Development and Liaison
- BC Team Program ? Track & Field
- International/National/Provincial/Regional Programs
- Centres: National/Provincial/Regional ? coach liaison, provincial/regional program review and IPS integration
- BC Athletics Strategic Plan

?Candidates would benefit from the following knowledge, training, education and experience:
- Be a self starter, effective communicator with a proven ability to work well with volunteers, committees and staff
- Coaching Certification ? fully certified Level 3 or equivalent and be eligible for or have Athletics Learning? Facilitator status.
- A degree in Physical Education; Kinesiology; Human Kinetics; Coaching; Sport Management; Recreation; Education or related field
- Track & Field coaching experience at the Club, School, University levels
- Management, Planning, Program Design and Implementation
- Leadership within a work and/or volunteer environment
- Computer knowledge and experience using MS Office; Spreadsheets; and the Internet
- Knowledge of the sport of Athletics at the club, provincial and national levels
Salary range $40,000 to $48,000 plus benefits and travel. While the preference is for candidates based in the Greater Vancouver Region or willing to relocate, we encourage applications from all interested candidates. The starting date is April 1, 2012.
