Job Description
Sous Chef Requirements:
? Minimum of 2 years experience as Sous Chef or lead cook in a catering or banquet environment
? Strong references
? Part to Full time availability
? 1 year commitment
? Enthusiasm and knowledge of fine food
? Organized, efficient, and able to multitask at a high level
? Ability to work well under pressure
? Working knowledge of professional cooking terminology, techniques and meal preparation procedures (e.g.: portion and quality control)
? Demonstrated leadership ability and supervisory skills to plan work, and provide guidance to staff
? Mathematical abilities to proportionally adjust recipes as needed and calculate purchasing amounts
? Good judgment & the ability to work as a team member with other staff, including the ability to manage priorities and work
Responsibilities Include:
* Lead weekend catering events
? Assisting the KM in daily operation of the kitchen
? Assisting KM in maintaining daily food procurement and preparation system, including production sheets, order sheets, recipes and menus
? Auditing inventories and purchasing food ingredients and kitchen supplies per inventory requirements
? Maintaining sanitation and safety standards at all times in work areas and during food handling, production, and storage (including food labeling) in accordance to applicable sanitation and safety regulations
? Servesafe Certificate a plus
