Beauty & the Beast

Hello! I'm St. Valentine, but you can call me V. :)

Well, I've had a couple of ideas floating around in my head for a while, and I'm in need of a good, literate partner who enjoys creative writing to help me flesh them out. Now, I won't expect you to post novels daily; however, that's not to say I don't appreciate a 3-4 paragraph post on a regular basis. SO! My first idea, as mentioned in the title, is Beauty & the Beast.

Now the first thing that probably comes to mind is Disney and all the pretty princess type stuff. That's definitely not what this is. First of all, this version is much, much darker - think original Grimm fables dark - and the beast is not a man. Actually, the beast is a female. It is a modern day setting in the city of Portland, Ohio (location is subject to change. Options include New Orleans, New York, or Los Angeles)and my characters will be of college age.

My second idea is about a mermaid and a young fisherman. As he is out with his father and crew one day, they accidentally and unknowingly capture the seamaiden, consequently causing her to lose her fishtail and have feet instead. They find her naked, tangled among the net and crushed beneath pounds of fish the next morning. The fisherman then shows her various aspects of the curious world on land; and so begins the romance. However, she grows increasingly more homesick, but a curse prevents her from returning home to the ocean and is also somehow linked to the fisherman's family. This will also be a modern day setting.

That's about it, really. If you're interested in any of these ideas, feel free to message me so we can go over more details and whatnot. I am perfectly happy playing the male character if need be, but please understand since these characters are my ideas I hold them to a certain standard. I absolutely cannot stand a tasteless, robotic and insubstantially plastic Mary Sue. Other than that, I don't bite. Unless you're into that kind of thing. :)
