Equinox, New York, announced today that it has hired Sarah Robb O?Hagan to become the company?s first president.
Robb O?Hagan currently serves as president of Gatorade and Global Sports Nutrition at PepsiCo. Inc. At Equinox, Robb O?Hagan will lead a domestic expansion strategy that includes 56 Equinox clubs as well as the company?s Pure Yoga, Blink and SoulCycle brands. She will report to Equinox CEO Harvey Spevak.
Robb O?Hagan, a?native of New Zealand, began her career in the service industry with positions at Air New Zealand and Virgin Atlantic Airways before moving to consumer products with roles at Atari Entertainment, Nike, and Gatorade. Equinox says Robb O?Hagan possesses a strong understanding of consumer trends and behavior, with a background in business expansion, brand strategy, product innovation, new product launches, technology, digital development, and sports and consumer marketing.
?Sarah has successfully built and expanded several iconic brands over the course of her career,? Spevak said in a statement. ?She has a strong track record of identifying and capitalizing on shifts in consumer behavior. She is the best of all worlds: an award-winning marketing executive, a natural leader and developer of talent, and a successful manager. We are very excited to have her join our team.?
In addition to overseeing the marketing, operations, finance, digital and human resources departments for Equinox, Robb O?Hagan also will oversee the company?s international expansion. Last week, Equinox announced that it will open its first Canadian club in Toronto this winter. Prior to that opening, Equinox will open its first international club in London this fall.
